Dr. Sullivan is a Physical Therapist who is originally from the small town of Bristol, VA. He initially attended Lenoir Rhyne University, where he was a 4-year member of the baseball team as a pitcher. During his time there, he was able to obtain his Bachelor and Master’s of Science in Exercise Science. He then attended East Tennessee State University, where he completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During his time as a therapist, he has had the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals ranging from athletes and weekend warriors, to elder individuals looking to be out of pain within their daily activities.
Coming from a collegiate baseball background, Matt continues to have a passion for a variety of sports. He, along with his wife Emily, have competed in various road running races ranging from distances of 5k to a full marathon. He has also competed in Sprint Triathlons, as well as spending time at the pickle ball court and golf course. He takes great pride understanding the passion and desires of athletes, working to bridge the gap between the injury and returning to sport. He also takes great pride in cultivating meaningful relationships with each of his patients, helping to understand their desires and return to their leisure tasks.
Matt has completed certifications in Dry Needling, as well as Running Gait Analysis, which he believes allows him to best serve his patients.
Matt loves the outdoors and can frequently be found on the Swamp Rabbit with his wife and two Doodles, Millie and Margo. He also enjoys sitting at a local coffee shop enjoying his favorite Latte or cheering on the Tennessee VOLS.
