What To Expect On My first Visit?

On your first visit, you will meet your doctor of physical therapy. It will primarily consist of an assessment of your condition. You will discuss your medical history, and the physical therapist will perform a series of tests and measures to determine the best treatment plan. The two of you will jointly decide on the best plan of care for your condition to return to your sport or hobby that you wish to return too.

How should I dress to my first appointment?

Your physical therapy and/or performance based appointment will take place in a gym. We would suggest dressing in athletic attire or loose fitting attire. We recommend wearing athletic shoes as your exercise prescription may consist of exercises that require a certain level of exertion.

Do I need to be injured to come to physical therapy?

Although physical therapists are trained in returning athletes and active people back to their respective sport or hobby after an injury, you do not, in fact, need to be injured to be in physical therapy. By having our doctorate in functional movement, we are able to work on improper movement patterns, muscular weakness, abnormal postures, and decreased mobility even without having an injury. Research has shown that there is a correlation between improved functional movement and performance.

Does Flashpoint accept insurance?

We are an out of network or cash based practice, and unfortunately do not accept insurance. We will, however, provide you with a super-bill to submit to your insurance if you would like.

Is there a cancellation policy?

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $100 fee or forfeit one session from a package. Please plan accordingly.
